"A young self-involved mother leaves her five year old daughter with her mother for the weekend. She will never see her daughter again."

Kaliope Harris (Izabella Miko) drops off her adorable five year old daughter Anna (Erika Shasho) with her mother Mrs. Harris (Lesley Ann Warren) for the weekend at the shore. Kaliope decides she has better things to do like spend time with her new boyfriend. Mrs. Harris takes Anna to the shore. After glancing away from her granddaughter for just a second. ANNA IS MISSING!

Mrs. Harris searches desperately for her beloved granddaughter. She is nowhere to be found.

Kaliope rushes back to the shore, the place where she grew up and swore never to return, to find out what happened to her daughter.

She is met by an unusual reaction from her Mother. Mrs. Harris talks about little Anna like she is still alive. Her father Mr. Harris (Ben Gazzara) the patriarch of the family and an important member of the community cannot accept that this happened to his granddaughter. Mr. Harris brings out the police and coast guard to continue the exhaustive search for Anna. Kaliope is alone trying to find the truth. Her only friend Tina (Paula Garces) works as a waitress with her at Mr. Harris's restaurant was there that day. The day that it happened. Tina's new boyfriend Ray (Costas Mandylor) plays a crucial role in Tina's life and in Kaliope's consuming search for her daughter. Nick (Matt Newton) the lifeguard who charged into the ocean to make a rescue that day asks Mrs. Harris if she remembers him. Mrs. Harris replies "NO, I don't remember you and I've never been to diamond beach."
